Who Will Cut Healthcare and Utility Bills for Allentown Families in the 2026 House Race?

The Choice Allentown Voters Face in 2026

Allentown sits in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District, and the general election arrives on November 3, 2026. Bob Brooks, the Democratic candidate, spent over two decades serving the Lehigh Valley as a Bethlehem firefighter and has led the Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association as its president since 2021. His campaign is built around affordability, healthcare access, wages, and safe working conditions for working families, which puts it squarely on the problems Allentown households raise most often: medical bills, utility bills, and pay that does not keep up.

Where Brooks Stands on the Costs Allentown Families Feel

On healthcare, Brooks will go to bat to bring down drug prices like insulin and beta-blockers, expand coverage, and make sure every town has the doctors and clinics people actually need. He points out that in 2023, 20 million Americans were stuck with $220 billion in medical debt while 16 of the biggest drug companies made $684 billion, and he supports Medicare for All.

On utilities, Brooks opposes letting data centers raise energy costs while out-of-state corporations get rich, and has spoken publicly about utility costs already being too high for Lehigh Valley households.

On schools, Brooks will not support using federal money to hand vouchers to private schools while public schools are being starved, and he believes the federal government should make sure every school in the district has the funding, staff, and support it needs.

What That Means for Your Ballot on November 3

Bob Brooks is the right choice for Allentown voters who want a congressman focused on making prescriptions affordable, holding down household energy bills, and backing local schools, because his platform attacks each of those costs directly and his record shows a career spent fighting for working people.
